The QC Manager will be responsible for the general oversight of the quality control function, including overall workpaper review.


  • Pre-issuance review of financial statements and audit documentation

  • Develop people through effectively delegating tasks and providing guidance to the staff

  • Provide subject matter technical expertise to delivery team in financial management areas of financial reporting, internal control, and/or financial business systems

  • Review draft deliverables prepared by the engagement teams and present results to management

  • Assist partners and principals in the creation of proposals, business development, and practice administration

  • Review firm’s systems and specific engagements in the annual internal inspection

  • Assist in performing peer review services

  • Lead in the implementation of new audit and accounting standards

  • Interface with the firm’s peer reviewers and other inspectors

  • Conduct training with new hires

  • Research and present topics for internal CPE seminars

  • Maintain audit templates and documents


  • Excellent organization skills, time management skills, and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and within teams

  • Ability to travel to each of the REM offices

  • Ability to effectively coach junior staff through complex assignments

  • Understanding of auditing standards, audit procedures, and financial analysis techniques

  • Self-starter, takes the initiative to deliver quality work with little direction from supervisor

  • Able to supervise and review work performed by other staff

Software Knowledge – Preferred but not Mandatory

  • CCH ProSystem Tax, Engagement

  • QuickBooks

  • Microsoft Excel, Word

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation

  • CPA license required

  • 7-10 years of experience working in a public accounting firm with no less than three years of QC experience
