The Tax Manager will have exposure to a diverse client base and will be responsible for the management of client engagements. The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing staff to ensure client needs are met timely and with the utmost quality. The Tax Manager will broaden client relationships through identification of additional client needs as well as recruitment of new clients to the firm. The position may require working additional hours during seasonal busy periods or during time-sensitive client engagements.
Manage a portfolio of clients and all facets related to the client engagement
Assist with federal, state, and local tax issues including compliance, advising, and planning
Review partnership, corporate, and individual tax returns
Research and draft technical memoranda regarding tax questions
Supervise and review associate and senior staff work
Assist in drafting proposals for engagements
Explore the client’s needs to broaden their relationship with the Firm
Ability to mentor, develop, and supervise staff
Strong time management skills and ability to manage engagement deadlines
Ability to speak to and sell Firm services to new and existing clients
Ability to travel to client locations within the metropolitan area
Software Knowledge – Preferred but not Mandatory
CCH ProSystem Tax, Engagement
Microsoft Excel, Word
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation; Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
Minimum ten years of tax experience in public accounting and three years of supervisory experience
