The Staff Accountant will have exposure to a diverse client base and will need to adapt to engagements as assigned. This position will work directly with clients in order to fulfill a broad scope of needs. The Staff Accountant must be able to communicate effectively with firm associates and clients as well as manage time and priorities in order to meet deadlines. The position may require working additional hours during seasonal busy periods or during time-sensitive client engagements.


  • Assist in the preparation and filing of federal and state income tax returns and related work papers, maintain tax calendar, and assist in communication with various state taxing jurisdictions

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of other non-income-based tax returns and related supporting schedules, maintain tax calendar, and make associated payments

  • Maintain tax depreciation records, responsible for depreciation calculation, provide accurate and timely reporting of tax depreciation when required


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to follow instruction

  • Ability to work independently and within teams

  • Strong time management skills

  • Able to travel to client locations within the metropolitan area

Software Knowledge – Preferred but not Mandatory

  • CCH ProSystem Tax, Engagement

  • QuickBooks

  • Microsoft Excel, Word

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation

  • CPA license preferred

  • All coursework (150-hour education requirement) required to sit for the CPA exam must be complete

  • Bilingual is a plus
